In 2011, it was $23.5K. Almost a $100,000 discount (the price of a house, in some states) in barely 7 or 8 years. So, while I may have lost my shorts selling my project, there's plenty of nice stuff to buy used--and in fantastic condition-- which is also heavily discounted. I don't feel all that bad about the compromise. Top Gear had a great episode last week about used High-End car values. Especially in California, where every other car is a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes, the deals are screaming--if you're willing to buy one out of warranty.
